About Us
The Pathways 2 Purpose program was created to empower at-risk youth ages 13-18 to make healthy choices, develop emotional resilience, and build a future rooted in purpose and possibility.
This mentorship program is designed as a 12-week structured experience, with the flexibility to expand into a 6- or 12-month model based on participant needs and organizational capacity. Youth engage in weekly 90-minute small-group sessions, supported by one-on-one mentoring relationships and monthly group activities that reinforce learning, connection, and leadership development. Groups are intentionally kept small (6-10 participants) to encourage trust, engagement, and meaningful growth.
The core goals of the Pathways 2 Purpose Mentorship Program include preventing involvement in juvenile delinquency, improving emotional regulation and decision-making skills, promoting healthy lifestyles and relationships, exposing youth to educational and career opportunities, and strengthening confidence, accountability, and leadership. Each session and activity is designed to help youth recognize their value, understand the impact of their choices, and develop the skills needed to navigate life's challenges successfully.

His passion for working with young people is rooted in years of experience advocating for children, supporting youth and families, and serving his community. Rodney has witnessed firsthand the challenges young people face and the impact that positive relationships, meaningful guidance, and intentional mentorship can have on the direction of a young person’s life.
His commitment to youth extends beyond Pathways 2 Purpose. Rodney has been actively involved in nonprofit and community-based work in West Texas, focused on mentoring, leadership development, education, scholarships, and creating opportunities for young people to succeed. Through his nonprofit work, he has helped develop programs that connect young people with mentors, encourage leadership, recognize academic achievement, and provide resources designed to help them see possibilities beyond their current circumstances.
Rodney’s professional background also brings a unique perspective to his work. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Sul Ross State University and has professional experience in leadership, safety and risk management, training, human resources, and organizational development. These experiences have strengthened his belief that personal development, accountability, decision-making, and preparation are essential to building a successful future.
Pathways 2 Purpose is not simply a book to read—it is a workbook deigned to be worked through over time. The curriculum challenges young people to develop self-awareness, practice self-management, build healthy relationship skills, make responsible decisions, identify their strengths and passions, establish meaningful goals, and begin creating a life with purpose.
At the heart of Rodney’s work is a simple belief:
Your Past Does Not Define Your Path........ Your Choices Do!
